Trivalent flu vaccine campaign stopped for under fives in Australia due to high level of seizures

I came across this reference that a trivalent flu vaccine was being stopped for under fives in Australia this year. I came across it purely by chance, has anybody else heard of this? What was the name of the vaccine which was recalled? Is this vaccine used in the UK?

Well from what I can find out it was probably 'Fluvax'. Also, I understand that for example Portland Hospital uses Immuvac. I don't know which vaccine is used for under fives by GPs. However, I have been told by a nurse that there have been some concerns in relation to some other trivalent vaccines for children (she either didn't know which ones or simply didn't want to tell), does anybody here know which vaccines should be avoided and where this information can be found?

The article reminds healthcare professionals that the Department of Health has advised against the use of Enzira and CSL Biotherapies generic influenza vaccine (both manufactured by CSL and marketed by Pfizer) in children younger than five years, as recent use of them in Australia was associated with an increased risk of febrile convulsions within 72 hours of vaccination (around 9 cases reported per 1000 doses). Children older than age 6 months and younger than 5 years who are in clinical risk-groups should still receive flu vaccination, but should use the alternative vaccines as recommended by the Department of Health.

Well, I think I got there. I found this which explains that Enzira and CSL's generic influenza vaccine should not be used in under fives. There is also this report providing more detailed information. So I can go to bed now. Hope this information is useful for anyone else who want their child vaccinated.
