My gp surgery must have extra swine flu vaccinatons available as they have offered it to my 16 year old ds. I have an annual flu jab due to health issues and they have said that he could have it too, if we wanted. He has no underlying health issues and has had seasonal flu three times in the past, always quite mildly whereas I have been very ill with it.
I am trying to weigh up the pros and cons and wondered if anyone had any advice. I am concerned about side effects of the jab as he hs never had it before, it making him feel unwell and as it is quite late in the flu season is it worth while. On the other hand swine flu does seem to be hitting some people really hard, often young people and that is concerning too.
The fact that I know the vaccine is available has created a dilema as to what would be best to do. Any advice welcome.
