It will settle down after a couple of doses!

I think this is a common side effect. My DS had some of this last week and the pharmacist warmed me he may feel sick. Unless it says otherwise on the box, you may find that it makes you feel less sick if you take it after food.

We did find it to be a very effective drug though.

I think I've had this one. It made me feel sick too and gave me an unpleasant taste in my mouth all day.

It also put me off eating. I couldn't face taking it for seven days so went back to my GP and she prescribed something else.

However it depends what it's being used to treat. It is very effective apparently for UTIs.

Yes, I had it and it gave me nausea about an hour after each dose. Nausea lasted an hour or two each time and continued throughout the course of meds. Was listed as a typical side effect though.

Taking with carbs helped a little, anything acidic seemed to make it worse.

thanks for your replies........I have a 10 day course so i might call the dr and see if there is an alternative. For some reason I have lost my sense of taste (i don't have a cold)

flutie - do you by any chance remember what alternative you were prescribed?

I have a chest infection and cough - i'm having an xray this afternoon
