Rash caused by antibiotics. Go back to gp?

Am working my way through a nasty chest infection and yesterday started a new lot of antibiotics. Last night I came out in an itchy rash all over arms, legs etc which I'm pretty sure is down to the tablets. I am getting better so not that bothered about more tablets and am pregnant so they had trouble yesterday finding some I could take.

Obviously I have stopped taking these and I have an appt next week and I'll mention the reaction then but is there any reason for me to schlep back to the doctor? I just have a little red flag in my head about pregnancy and rashes.

I would go back. They might want you to go on a different antibiotic. But if you have a long way to go to your GP maybe you can give them a call and ask to speak to a doctor, they could advise you what to do.

Yes, go back. Don't take any more until you get something else.

you may have a penicillin allegy which should be annotated for future reference as the reaction next time may be worse. if the rash gets worse you may need treatment for the allergy.
