Sprained wrist that won't heal?

About three months ago, I must have sprained my left wrist. I don't remember doing it, but it started hurting after a long train journey where I had been struggling with luggage, so that makes sense.

However, it just hasn't got better, and if anything is a bit worse.

If I turn my palm to face upwards, i get a kind of sharp ache in my wrist, and if I put weight on it (eg shuffling myself along a bed or carrying plates) it becdomes more of a sharp pain, and then it has a dull ache for a while afterwards. It also aches in the cold.

i feel daft moaning, because it obvioulsy isn't serious, but it should have healed by now surely?

If there anything I can do to help it?

Well I would get it checked by a GP, they might have ways to help.

Also, I am so not a woo person in the slightest, but when I had a frozen shoulder that wouldn't heal I had acupuncture (on the NHS!) and it worked brilliantly (or seemed to).

I had these symptoms a couple of years ago. Not a sprain, but a type of tendonitis. I struggle on for months, until i saw my GP. My GP refered me for a steroid injection. Wasn't sure about this, but other options
(surgery, months of physio) also no appealing. It made my wrist more sore for about 24 hrs, and no pain since. Injection was 1 Sept 2009 - the day before I went back to work after mat leave.

If, after an X-ray you are sure you have no break or fracture of an kind, as Marine said, go to an acupuncturist.

If you are anywhere near Plymouth I can give you an excellent Chinaman's address!

Ding is great.
