Pins & needles following D&C

I had a D&C/ERPC yesterday morning under general anaesthetic. I was discharged around 2pm and at about 5pm noticed pins & needles in my calves. It passed after about half an hour.

I went to bed last night and noticed pins and needles in my calves and left arm. I called the ward (as they'd advised when I was discharged) and was told to come in. The doctor examined me and said it was probably due to a bit of nerve damage from when they've moved me when I was asleep. I came home at about midnight. She said if it persists longer than 3 weeks to see my gp & not to bother calling the ward again because it's not a gynae issue.

This morning I have pins and needles in my hands and feet.

So what I want to know is, does this sound reasonable? It is worrying me but I'm not a doctor so am probably panicking over nothing.

Perhaps you should see your gp. I wouldn't have thought that moving you under anaesthetic would cause nerve damage as they do it very carefully. Also, you're not 'under' very long with an ERPC, so you won't have been put in an awkward position for a prolonged period of time, which can happen in longer operations.

Perhaps it's some sort of side effect from the general anaesthetic.

Thanks for replying ilovemyfestivehens I think that's probably a good idea. I'm staying at my mums in another county until next week but I'll call GP now.

Thank you .
