Is this norovirus?

Temperature, sickness and aching limbs in my 5 yo DS. Not keeping water down. Not eating anything and still being sick. And if so, chances of us all getting it? And how long does it last?

It could well be Norovirus (could be other things) and unfortunately it's very likely to be catching! Some things that little kids get, adults are immine to but in my (bitter) experience not many. I think Norovirus tends to be a couple of days full-on and then often a bit of residual yukkiness.

Does he have diarrhoea too? I believe it usually comes with norovirus.

I'm afraid if it's a tummy bug then it will probably work it's way through the rest of the household Sad

You can minimise your risk by being careful with hand hygeine and bleaching thoroughly (the house, not your hands Smile)

If its norovirus, its highly likely you will all get it, sorry, 2 years ago my entire family had it, 19 of us, only 1 escaped somehow Hmm, it put the youngest and oldest members in hospital, it lasted just over a week, its now known in our family as 'the plague', I really hope it isnt noro, if it helps, my kids often pick up tummy bugs that dp and I escape, as someone else has said be extra careful with handwashing, fingers crossed you dodge it Smile

probably all get it, might last from 3-7 days, and you might get it kind of after each other ... Key is to drink little and often when you have it (plain water is fine) as dehydration is the biggest risk.
