Just dropped dd's bucket of plastic food/plates on my big toe. I can't belive how much it hurt, i was shocked by the intensity and shouting like a banshee for quite a few moments.

now it bloody hurts. poor dd was terrified. ran to get me a miniscule bit of soggy tissue paper to put on it.

what do i do to it now? cant bend it and keep getting shooting pains.

Ouch.

Can you sit down with it elevated and put some ice on it for a while? It may help. Have you any painkillers - maybe something like ibuprofen that might help with inflamation.

Earlier this year my 8y slept whilst coming over to have hair done. She landed with her full weight on my big toe. The pain was as you describe - so intense, shooting pains, etc. It hurt all day and the next too. I ended up going to the minor injuries unit at the hospital for an xray as it hurt so bad - but it was fine.

So rest, ice, painkillers - and hopefully it'll b fine in a day or two.
