Baby with watery eye

My 11 week old DD has suddenly developed a watery eye. There doesn't appear to be any infection yet. What could be causing this?

Snowed in today, so getting to docs is unlikely!

Bummer, realised I could have put this in child's health!

An infected eye will usually be red and gunk-up (not sure that's the technical term!) As long as the eyeball is still white I don't think there's any need to rush to the doctor. If it does start to look infected then you should get it checked fairly quickly in such a young baby.

My DD gets watery eyes sometimes, especially if she has a cold. She also sometimes gets little bits of fluff or cotton wool in there which make her eye water for a bit.

are you bf? a bit of milk (b not f) dripped into eye often clears things up like magic. i tried it, it does work, honest. even if you feel a bit weird doing it.
