Numb hands

I wonder if anyone else has experienced numb hands? It is usually worse in the morning but my hands feel numb, sometimes pins and needles and feel (but don't look) swollen. It's getting worse - used to be a couple of fingers but now affects my whole hands so i think I need to visit the docs. I'm 32 if that means anything. Hope someone can shed some light on it! It's annoying!!

Sounds like poor circulation in your hands, could be any number of reasons so get down to your GP and let her give you a check over.

I thought carpel tunnel, as a sufferer myself I know how it feels. Does it start at night?

JustBeachy · 29/11/2010 19:10

Yes sparkle I can get woken up with very numb tingly hands in the night fairly often but there is sort of an ache most of the day now...docs on Fri we'll see what they say!!

Sounds very much like carpal tunnel.
I have just had the release op on my right hand and it is much improved.
I had left the symptoms too lon before I had the op.

LoveBeingADaddysGirl · 29/11/2010 19:17

I had carpal tunnel when pg went off mostly a few months after the birth.

SparkleRainbow · 30/11/2010 11:37

I had it when pregnant with my first, then the symptoms went after he was born, they came back with my second and went again after she was born, then back again with my third, but they have never left, I still get it every night, they say I need an op on both hands, but will need 6 weeks recovery period, and I can't do that whilst dd2 is still so little. Waiting for two years for the symptoms to go now, and they are still just as bad.

I am sure that they will tell you it is carpel tunnel justbeachy, hope you get relief soon, or can do an op soon. Good luck on friday.

It is likely to be either Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or a neck problem irritating the nerves that come out and go down the arm. You might want to try a chiropractor. I am a chiro here and we can get good results with these problems. To find a local chiropractor try the British Chiropractic Association.
