I love Lucyfer!

mummylonglegs · 04/10/2005 13:41

Drop - you know the famous song 'smoke on the water'? Well it was a 'pun' on that. I was scraping the barrel I know...

Boris, Lucyfur? Is that the name of a spider? How about IncyWincy? Just doesn't sound 'scary' ... Mummywronglegs?

OP posts:
lucy5 · 04/10/2005 14:55

charliebat · 05/10/2005 09:59

Hiya EM...you been smoking or have you got yourself back on them?

mummylonglegs · 05/10/2005 13:23

Spookylucy's great!

Hiya EM, how you doing?

I haven't found a spooky enough name for me yet. How about Ghostlylonglegs?

Hullo drop, you going on that SE London curry bash thing?

Still having big monitor problems. Gotta take dd to eye hospital this afternoon as her cysts have gone septic. I feel so sorry for her, she's really uncomfortable but being such a trooper about it. I hope hope hope they don't say it's got to be surgery ...

OP posts:
Dropinthecauldron · 05/10/2005 13:30

Oh dear, didn't realise she still had them, mll! Poor love!
Yes,I think I will go to the curry bash as got on very well with K Bear and Norash-would be great if you could come-I will probably drive so if I can help out at all,let me know!

mummylonglegs · 05/10/2005 19:24

I liked those guys too when I met them at the Greenwich meet-up, I spoke more to Kbear than to Norash but she looked lovely.

Horrible afternoon at A&E. Got there at 2.30pm and didn't even get assessed by triage nurse til 4.30pm! Dd behaved SO well though and put up with all kinds of tests and pokes and prods and it looks like she may have to have some surgery. It's much worse than when you saw her, drop, it's like a strange line of pussy skin on the outside of one of her eyes. Every now and then it pops then fills up again.

Still, despite it all, and despite being told that the potential new playgroup I've got dd down for is not too hot, in fact has some dodgy staff, I haven't succumbed to a single puff!

To be honest, my continuing not to smoke is about the most positive thing in my life right now... It's been a bloody tough few months for Mummywhateverlegs

OP posts:
charliebat · 05/10/2005 19:31

Its has hasnt it mummythenonsmokerlegs. Its really really good that you havent searched for a fag on the hop. When life gets better it will be a dawdle not smoking
Your dd sounds poorly...how on earth did all this start?
And the nursery wiht the dodgy staff? Oh gawdd...is this the new one or the ones shes at?

mummylonglegs · 05/10/2005 21:30

cb, I feel a bit like there's a conspiracy against me at the moment. Every time I think things are getting a bit better something goes wrong. It was the new playgroup that has the problem. Basically they phoned me today to say dd definitely had the 2 mornings a week from next week if she wants them. So I dropped dd at the current playgroup this morning and mentioned the new one to a couple of mums who kind of 'looked away' iykwim? Then later at the end of the morning I discussed it with the staff at current playgroup. I said as they were closing and she's fallen short of the school pre-school January intake that I'd been offered 2 mornings somewhere and would they mind. They said it was fine with them, only problem might be their preparations for nativity play etc. Then they asked me where she was going and when I said the name of the new place 2 of the immediately said 'I wouldn't send her there', then kind of checked themselves and would only afterwards say that i should speak to other mums and that they'd got a bad vibe about two of the staff there at a few training groups they'd been to. 'I don't think they've got the children's best interests at heart' were the words one of them used.

So what do I do? I'm meant to tell the play leader of the new group tomorrow if dd'll start. I'm so unsure ... And I'm crap crap crap at making decisions.

charliebat · 05/10/2005 21:38

Oh bollocks...There are shit nursery workers, I have heard many horror storys and theres one woman who comes across as LOVELY to adults but shes so sarcastic and underlyingly mean to the kids it turns my stomach.
Youve wet yourself have you...ohhh what a shame...nasty laugh. Not at my nursery, another, shes now manager of a day place
Can you pop in on the hop to the place shes meant to be starting at. Im thinking it must be bad for them to have opened their mouths and as they have nothing to lose as such they wouldnt be biased..you know??!!
Oh Pants.
If your dd is only doing these nursery sessions for social reasons I would wait till your really happy with her place. My dd didnt start till she was 3.5, at 3.5 she was quiet and shy and she still is at nearly 8. She was never going to be an outgoing in yer face kiddie.
Oh MLL..

mummylonglegs · 05/10/2005 22:00

I got the feeling it wasn't the woman who runs the place who I did think seemed nice. But the other two who she works with. I didn't really get to see much of them but apparently, yes, they said disparaging things about the kids to the workers at my current place. Not good.

I feel so utterly knackered, cb, really deeply worn out. My natural spirit is quite humorous and playful. I think. But some days lately I've been totally without a smile.

OP posts:
charliebat · 05/10/2005 22:07

Awwww Sounds really pants

Whats making you so grim?

mummylonglegs · 05/10/2005 22:13

Obvious stuff like money (lack of). Plus dp's constant state of depression / anxiety and not knowing whether he's going to hold it together or lose it or what he really wants / needs to make him happy now. Living in this flat with no hope of moving. Living in this area with no hope of moving. Dd's future while we're here. Shall I go on?

Mummymiserylegs

OP posts:
charliebat · 05/10/2005 22:21

Ok...why have you no hope of moving? Have you any idea whats making dp sad? Are you owners or renters?

mummylonglegs · 05/10/2005 22:21

Urg, I'm off, cb. Sorry for being such a grump. Hey, how did that fraud thing with your catalogues end up?

Will catch up with you tomorrow hopefully.
