I wondered whether any other hereditary spherocytosis MNers were about to discuss removal of the spleen in their dcs? My mother suggested that it was probably time for my ds,who is 13,to have his removed- before major school stuff starts (exams/going on a music tour to New York in 2012) Had rather buried my head in the sand about this- assuming that it is better to leave the spleen in. Not having his next check up until Feb 2011, so just thought I should think about this more seriously.
