My 5 1/2 month DD2 was doing really well with putting herself to sleep especially for her naps in the day but now she is on solids she seems to have alot of windy tummy type pains and discomfort so although she is trying to go to sleep in her cot she is moaning and pulling her legs up under and writhing around a little. She has her eyes shut and she is obviously geeting workied up and so I soothe and rub and pat until it passes and then she goes to sleep but would gripe water or something similar help???

Gripe water didn't do much for my dd.

How much solid food are you giving her? If you really think it's the solids, maybe she's having a bit too much and you could cut down a little, or give her the solids after she's had her naps rather than before, so she doesn't go to bed with a full tummy?

strangely, gripe water worked a treat for dd but did nothing for ds. both suffered terribly from colic... arghhh. what helped ds was osteopathy and simethicone.
