EYE INFECTION

My friends sisters baby who is 3 weeks old has an eye infection and has been given antibiotic eyedrops. Not sure why she has got it. Anyone had the same thing happen to their little ones.

Think the tear duct isn't very efficient yet and if she has a cold or was in contact with conjunctivitis it cna easily occur. Friends' ds had it at a week, probably caught frm his brother. Bathing with cooled boiled water (one cotton ball per eye) and breastmilk can help.

Yes one of my dds used to get them frequently as a baby. You can also bathe the eye with some boiled water on cotton wool at the first sign of infaction.
