I have no idea what this is. But knee is fine, pain free in day to day stuff. No symptoms and nothing physical to see.

Then I kneel down and it's like a red hot poker shoved inside my knee, gawd it hurts so much!

Yes I know I could just not kneel down, but with two DC's who like tickling and wrestling, we roll around lots. I kneel occasionally on hard tiled floor at work, for maybe a second at a time to get a file out, but the instant my knee touches the floor it's agony.

Any ideas?

I have the exact same issue as most of you all. I don’t have any pain walking, running, jumping but only when something contacts the front of my knee whether through kneeling on it or something touching it. It shoots pain through it as if I was struck by lightning in that direct spot. The pain goes from the middle of my kneecap to slightly down and outside of it. It doesn’t go down my leg or anywhere else and lasts a few seconds after I remove whatever was touching it. Has anyone figured out what this is and how to treat it?

This is a zombie thread so OP unlikely to answer but I'll reply to you (I'd start your own thread!)

I've recently has exactly the same thing.

It eventually resolved itself after a few months and I don't know what it was. It started after I knelt on my knee and it kinda collapsed and popped.

Thank you! Mine hasn’t popped yet but that sounds kind of scary! I will post a new one and see what I can get.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm experiencing something similar. No pain except when I kneel, then my left kneecap feels like I've knelt on a Lego or a tiny screw or similar.

Has anyone ever had a diagnosis - I commented on this 6 yrs ago and my knee is still the same! Hurts if I kneel on it - fine to walk etc though! I go to the chiropractor and I had needling on it which did hurt more than it does when I have dry needling elsewhere and she says to massage my knee regularly but tbh I don’t see any difference!

Still waiting since 2019 for someone to come back and confirm the diagnosis/fix.... :(

I have this too, but it was after falling hard on my knee.
My GP was so "helpful" and just said to stop kneeling on it. This was years ago and it still hurts if I kneel down (so I don't, although the pain is nowhere near as bad).
