Boils???

OK I have had absesses/ boils in the past which have required both surgery and aspiration. Also one on the back of my neck/top of back which required antibiotics.

I had what I thought was a spot on the shoulder whuch seems to have become a boil and one on my back about 3 inches away. They are painful and warm to touch.

I've bathed in tea tree oil in hottest bath I can have, dabbed with tcp and used magnesium sulphate for past 48hours. They seem smaller but are still angry and red. I seem to have 'spots. on my skin in this area as well but small red bumps not whiteheads so I've ruled out acne type infection.

Anybody got any experience of this, what I can do, how I can treat (will not pop, the damn buggers).

I've heard of a nasal spray that eliminates or does something to staph levels??

Any advice would be great.

I don't know if this will help you, but my dad and I both swear by sulphur tablets! they used to be available in strawberry flavour, 2 a day used to get rid of my painful acne and dads boil.
Now I don't know if the big strawberry ones are available so you could try the homeopathic ones?

Thanks ladies. My friend (god love her) has being putting as hot as I can stand it flannel on my back tonight as we watched a film as I can't reach the spot, some gunk came out but still very painful and raised.

I'll see what morning brings.

Mumbar, I didn't realise this was sometimes due to staph infection. That's interesting.

I had a partner who got a lot of these, he said it was just something he was liable to. I wondered about a condition called hydradenitis or something like that - but maybe it was just staph.

He did have a kind of ongoing low grade infection though, somewhere else, which was sorted out with an operation and after that his skin seemed to improve a lot.

Hope you manage to find out about the nasal spray.

Thanks Ennis thats interesting. This has flared up again as my stomach is playing up again so wondering whether thats the link with me?

Obviously not a lot I can do until tomorrow so I'll let you know.

I'll look up the other condition you mentioned tho.
