Strange stomach trouble

Is there a bug going round at the moment that makes you feel ill with stomach pain and churning etc but without vomiting/diarrhoea?

My auntie has been ill for a couple of days, can't eat, feels sick with upset stomach but that's it.

Am worried it's something serious as she is elderly and frail and won't call the doctor, although it does sound viral to me, or like the start of food poisoning.

Hi
I'm on my 3rd day off work - thought it was a cold (was off 3 days the wk before last) coming back as didn't feel I had quite recuperated. Anyway, symptoms seem to be more stomach than nose related! Off food monday am, forced myself to eat yesterday, and this morning finally have a bit of runs (sorry if too much info!)
Totally fed up with daytime tv now - it just sucks you in. Can't even emotionally eat to make up for it!
Hope your auntie gets well soon xx

sunday evening i had tummy ache
monday a LOT of urgent poos and some nausea
more poo yesterday
not so much today

if i was stressed i would think it was IBS, but i'm not and there's nothing i have eaten that it could be.

i think there is something going round.

I think so too, sorry you are sick though! Hope you are right as rain tomorrow! Smile

Thanks, both of you!

oh and dd has been moaning about stomach ache for weeks, she had 2 days of quite runny poo, but that was a while ago and she is still saying she doesn't feel well. she's not acting quite herself either.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/11/2010 13:25

there does seem to be a lot of it about. Hope your DD is better soon too!

thank you. it's hard to know whether she is just being difficult or does really feel ill!

hope your auntie feels better soon

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/11/2010 13:55

My son today has diarrhoea, quite bad, which came as a surprise to me as there's been no sickness.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/11/2010 16:53

poor thing, hope he is better soon!

Aww thanks, he's usually a "bounce-back quickly" sort of little fella :) In fact to be fair it hasn't really stopped him bouncing! He has ASD and he'd been eating like crazy the last couple of days which I think may be down to him misinterpreting an uncomfortable tummy.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/11/2010 17:01

my DD has got something very similar to ASD, it's hard, she can't tell me when she is ill!

It can make things very difficult can't it? I have to do psychic diagnosis and I don't think doctors are much better at it either

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/11/2010 17:10

yes, my DD has regular ear infections, but all she does is be more grumpy and grind her teeth and stare into space a lot.
