Can anyone help DD - urination

DD (6) says it hurts when she wees. I took her to the doctor yesterday, and UTI was excluded; conclusion was that it must be local irritation. It seemed to get better over the course of the rest of the day, but today it's back with a vengeance. Poor mite is sobbing, and dreading going.

Is there anything which can be done to either help the irritation subside quickly, or make urination more bearable for her until it does? Thanks.

did the GP take a urine sample?

Make sure she drinks plenty ot water, ice lollies etc. I would give her calpol for the pain.

Yes: dipstick into sample was how UTI was excluded.

I am keeping an eye on fluids, and have just given Calpol. I just feel so sorry for her right now!

If it continues, then the GP needs to send a sample away to be checked.

Make sure she doesn't wear underpants at night, so strong bubble bath soap etc, and no tight clothes.
