stomach pain when walking

A few months ago I noticed that whenever I walk my stomach starts to hurt. It's worse when I'm walking up or down stairs, the weight of my leg hitting the floor seems to exacebate whatever it is. Getting in and out of bed causes the same sort of pain. I've noticed the pain is worse when I'm sitting down driving, but think that's because I sit quite hunched up (am quite short so need to sit close to the pedals).

Spoke to my osteopath about it when I saw her last week and she seems to think the pain is coming from my pelvis, with the muscles being pulled when I walk.

Has anyone had this? I did have severe spd after the birth of my first dd but didn't have these sort of symptons.

I know I'm going to have to see my gp but feel a bit feeble saying 'my stomach hurts when I walk'.

Is it possible that your are constipated. I know that sounds really feeble, but when I'm constipated (I suffer from IBS), every movement hurts.

Am willing to consider anything, so no not feeble at all. Don't think so, though now I think about it the pain is worse after a bowel movement.... Blush

Could be something bowel related then.

So now you could say to your gp....

"My stomach hurts when I walk, and it's worse when I've had a bowel movement".

Is there anything else that makes it worse/better?

Could you keep a diary of your symptoms for a few days to try and see if there is a pattern to the frequency, intensity or activity link?

I was meant to see my gp today but cancelled, was too scared to go. Pathetic I know. Just keep hoping it will go away...

any chance it could be gall bladder

whatinthenameof · 26/10/2010 16:12

yes I do have gallstones, picked up when I had a scan for something else, but my gp said that gallstones wouldnt cause this type of pain. He said I'd have pain in the upper part of my stomach and rib pain, not low down stomach pain. Having researched it further I've never come across gallstones causing stomach pain when you walk?

Could it be muscular or linked to monthly cycle?
