Your not pregnant are you? If you are I'd call your midwife asap as it's a symptom to look out for (obstetric cholestasis) - if I remember correctly.

If not I've no idea sorry.

Get checked out by your GP - could be lots of things (from hormones to allergies to dry skin to blood disorders) so best to see a doc!

Horrid, sympathies - I had it (hormonal, not OC) with last pregnancy and nearly went mad. Mine was worse at night.

I had this once on my upper chest area. Used to drive me mad particularly after a shower when i felt hot. Went to GP who prescribed anti-histamine (can buy over the counter).
Worked immediately and I never had the problem again (think it may have been the wool mix in a jumper I used to own)

Do you have dry skin?

I have really dry skin and get this all the time particularly on my torso and my back, whcih drives me mad as I can't scratch it - it gets worse when my skin is really bad say when I've forgotten to moisturise or if I've been somewhere with the central heating on high or after a hot bath/shower.

Usually some moisturiser all over and a few extra glasses of water than I'd normally drink sorts it out
