Really? Please tell me more as I suffer dreadfully

HEXentricaGallumbits · 23/10/2010 17:47

really! i bought a TENS for my bad back and noticed in the info leaflet that you can stick the pads on the front and it has a setting for period pain.

i have always had hideous crippling period pain. i take vast amounts of painkillers and have to book days off work in advance.

so this morning i stuck on the TENS and have been amazed at how good it is.

I've used my pregnancy TENS for period pain, agree it is excellent.

I've often wondered about TENS machines. I dismissed them during pg as others in my group said they weren't much help in labour, but now I have achey back/shoulder/neck - so would one really help with that do you think?

moocowme · 25/10/2010 12:10

if you get one thats designed for use during birth they are generally stronger - and better for the pain :) yes do try it.

Hex

Have you ever seen a gynae about this issue?.

Glad to read that the TENS machine has helped but has anyone tried to establish the actual CAUSE of all this pain?. I ask this as endometriosis is a common cause of such problems.

Kitta · 25/10/2010 22:35

I use mine for a long term back issue and think they are the best thing ever, but I would say that I needed to use mine a few times before it actually worked for me. Don't know the how why but sometimes this happens. So if you do get one (Llyods were selling them for about £15)just be aware.

My mum's advice to my little sister for period pain (when she was a teenager): get pregnant. Hmm

I had a session with Corrina at www.nomoremoodswings.co.uk in Hove and she got rid of my period pain after 1 session. Amazing!
