Ok have used it on DC no probs for various things, I have come out in a stress/allergic rash and was told to use it and take an anti histamine. It bloody well hurt well burned really and now it looks as if I have burned my skin. So now I am blue with the cold, covered in red spots and now throbbing hot glowing skin. Do I now have to go back to Dr and pay him Euro 60 again after landing out Euro 80 already [hangry] or is it normal to sting a little and I am being a wimp?

eurax doesnt normally sting. where is your rash or where did it start

canyou · 20/10/2010 00:09

Hi aly you ans my other q at the weekend thank you, it has spread to both arms and legs none on my body have been told by Dr it is stress and allergy but piriton and eurax not working I look like a walking pox as so ichy
Eurax burned it and turned arms bright red so wimped out and put suda cream on legs and bread soda paste on arms [afraid to but anything else on] water also irritates it am at a loss, one week on and getting worse so cross I will gave to pay again to see Dr [should have stayed in UK]
Any advice plse they are still tiny red bumps under the skin [think bright red goose bumps] irritated by the heat, itchy and the skin is now tender and sore.
I have had no sugar, no acidy foods since sat and it has made no difference to me.
If it does not clear up I can go to the halloween party as a walking pox

alypaly · 20/10/2010 00:22

how long haveyou been taking piriton for.
You should not put eurax on broken or inflamed skinwww.patient.co.uk/medicine/Crotamiton.htm

alypaly · 20/10/2010 00:23

what did i help you with at the weekend...think my memory is going with the pain.

canyou · 20/10/2010 00:34

same issue the spots appeared then, I am very good and not scratching so skin is un broken but tried again and the heat off the area where the lotion was applied is radiating off me and bright red even dp [paramedic your not dead what is your problem]has stopped laughing I really dont have euro 60 again for the dr. Tomorrow will be day 7 of the piriton and tbh rash is worse then when I first took them. S have to go back I am terrified he will change his mind and say it is some contagious chicken pox or something.
He diagnosed carers fatigue last week and told me take a break and reduce stress levels to get rid of the rash [hhmm]

you havent recently been on antibiotics have you

canyou · 20/10/2010 12:50

Aly no to the antibiotics, I have now got
Steroid cream, Aveeno shower gel and body lotion, silcox cream anti biotic and antihistamine.
Left the surgery when she rang me to say get Lyclean because I have been in and out of hosp to see my Nana Shock Envy-sick emotive
Freaking out here even though Dr said it not mites but better to treat as such on a mission now with bleach and boil washing trying not to vomit [did google and rash nothing like scabies but yikes]
So still no diagnosis but Euro 210.00 poorer and have to go back on fri so an other E60.00 Shock
Am off to sell the family into slave labour to pay for it all [hsad]

OP posts:
alypaly · 20/10/2010 21:03

you poor thing.

scabies mite normally starts on hands forearms and chest and you can often see the burrow trails under the skin

canyou · 20/10/2010 21:11

No hands are clear as is chest, mainly upper arms legs and back but used it first and see, I did google and looks nothing like it but if it is those mite and germ infected parasites will suffer DC be treated,
Thank Goodness I read the leaflets, I cant use all the stuff at the same time so will be going back to chemist to tell her she could have killed me she was wrong re the creams and how to use them
Thanks again

Think she is treating as am in and out of hosp and nursing home at the moment because of family and when I named the place, it was a light bulb moment about 10 min later after I left

OP posts:
alypaly · 20/10/2010 21:16

you shouldnt be using a steroid cream at the same time as lyclear in case you have an infection. what a weird way to treat you...its like she was hedging her bets with something of everything. Have you got a picture of your rash as i used to work in dermatology. i mightt be able to help.

canyou · 20/10/2010 21:25

No pics camera broken
Yeah I put on lyclear at 5 today will shower in the morning have taken the antihistamine as well.
Can I use Aveeno to shower off and then the Betnovate cream in the morning?
I am worried I am the only one with the rash but should I treat everyone?
Tbh when I went on line it looked like the bacterial infection rash, small lumps no clusters.
My whole skin is now crawling over her and imagined creatures, I have boil washed everything and cleaned with tea tree.
Good news is I found the diamond I lost from my necklace so saved myself some money

what has doc said it is? how big are the spots.if it looks burnt....there is a skin condition called scalded skin syndrome which is cused by staff aureus. Is there any discharge or pus from the spotty bits.

BOOsilla · 20/10/2010 21:40

folliculitis?

canyou · 20/10/2010 21:49

Ok forgot I have a camera on the phone sorry about the quality though

OP posts:
canyou · 20/10/2010 22:00

Sorry aly Dr said today 'That is a strange rash, but does not seem contagious'
'Use E45' 'No Dr that and Eurax burned my skin, heat radiated off it'
Gave me the above on prescription sent me on my way a lot poorer and then rang me to say as I have been in and out of Hosp/nursing home buy and use lyclear as a precaution Confused

www.skinsight.com/adult/keratosisPilaris-treatments.htm
It looks like this

OP posts:
alypaly · 20/10/2010 22:32

its not contagious but they have given you lyclearConfused

the rash does look similar to the pompholyx one i showed you. except that is mainly on hands and feet.

canyou · 20/10/2010 22:43

Stange one thats me a puzzle,
I think she is covering all bases and ensuring I got value for money
6 hrs on and lyclear made no difference still itchy will take antihistimine before bed

OP posts:
canyou · 20/10/2010 22:53

I guess the pompholyx could be in other areas?
My arms are sore [hot] and itchy now though and realised it got very irritated this evening after eating pizza [really bad diet here at the moment, so that may be a factor]

OP posts:
alypaly · 20/10/2010 23:19

www.medicineonline.com/articles/P/2/Pompholyx/Dyshidrotic-Eczema.htmlthat is an article on pompholyx.bur you may well have diagnosed yourself with the keratosis pilaris

canyou · 20/10/2010 23:33

I would have gone with prickly heats except my skin is blue with the cold I am in shorts and a string top.
DP is laughing, calling me a smurf pox [hangry]
Thank you for the link I hope you are feeling a bit better

OP posts:
alypaly · 21/10/2010 21:09

canyou · 21/10/2010 23:08

Pain is the worst as it drains you. I hope you get an answer and relief soon.
I was insane with my issue all day at work [dealing with water] but have has a shower and used the steroid cream all day and it has eased a little since I got home.
