When did your periods come back?

I just wanted to enquire about when this happened to you as it has varied immensely for me - I have breastfed them all exclusively for 6 months and all of them have been feeding until they are 18/20 months or so.

DC1 it was 16 months
DC2 1 year to the day
DC3 5 months
and DC4 and you will be very saddened to find this out is only 7.5 weeks old and I have got my period back

Absolutely gutted - I think it is because I am getting to be an old bird (40) but nevertheless, how very unfair.

10 Months but it was within 5 days of stopping the feed between 2-4am. Have heard that's the time of day that is most likely to suppress your fertility and hence your periods.

very unfair, mine took nearly 2 years each time but I was under 40. have heard from various friends over 40 that theirs came back quickly, not sure if that is a medical normality or chance
Hope if I get as far as bfing again that it will keep my periods away for more than a few weeks but now I'm over 40 I'm not counting on it

This time has been the longest it's taken for AF to reappear - 12 and a half months and I was 40. When I had my first at 24, AF came back after maybe 7 weeks or so. This is despite EBF each of my 6 babies. Generally it was 5/6 months for me....though as I've got older, it's been longer. Maybe I am the exception to the rule?!

just over 6 months but I wasn't exclusively BF-ing.
