Found a lump under my arm

Am terrified. It is small (about fingertip sized) and quite hard. I didn't notice it when I shaved under my arms 2 days ago, but the fact that it is painless is worrying me. I know I must see the GP, but has anyone had anything similar that turned out to be something and nothing?

Yes had a lump in my breast once - I PANICED!

Got a quick appointment for the GP who could also feel it, got an appointment with consultant 2 days later and by then it wasn't evident. Was told it was probably a cyst thet then drained and had no further treatment apart from a follow-up consultatn appt. to make sure nothing had returned.

Lumps are not always bad news - but do get it checked out. Try not to worry.

I found a lump when I was pregnant. It turned out it was caused by an ingrown hair and aggravated by shaving. The GP said a breast tumour would be located closer to the breast whereas mine was at the bottom of the pit.

Make sure you book an appointment with your GP to get it checked out.

Best wishes. The majority of lumps turn out to be harmless.

Thanks very much for the reassurances. I am worrying about breast cancer and also about lymphomas (googling was a mistake!). I will go to the GP soon.
