Tickling baby's feet......

Don't really know where to post this, so i'll try here....

My sister was tickling ds's feet on Sunday (who is 11 weeks old), and my nan told her off, and said you're not supposed to tickle baby's feet as it can make them stutter later on in life. What's that all about??

Was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this before?

Tickling feet is a highly dangerous thing to do. I tickled dh's feet not knowing he had an aversion to it once. His leg jerked so fast into the air he kicked me round the head, nearly dislocating my jaw in the process.

Little bugger!

Hunker - have you been snogging yourself

I used to love "chewing" the arch of their feet, they love being tickled and ask to be tickled. I hated it as a kid and my brother used to torment me.

myturn · 14/09/2005 00:04

How do you know they love it Skribble?

Skribble · 14/09/2005 00:07

Well DD at 2yrs would giggle constantly lie on her back present her feet saying again again.

Skribble · 14/09/2005 00:08

I wouldn't hold them down and tickle them until they cry, thats for dads to do. When they were babies i only did it enough to make them giggle.

myturn · 14/09/2005 00:08

ok then - just wondered!! I just hate it myself, and my girls howl when we tickle them! Funny how we are all different eh?

Skribble · 14/09/2005 00:10

I am very tickly but lave the arches of my feet to be rubbed firmly. I hate it when people come up behind you and grab your waist, I shock them by screaming and leaping about 3ft.

myturn · 14/09/2005 00:13

Lol!! Weird, because I like my feet being massaged (very therapeutic) but if the are tickled I really can't STAND it! I suppose I am quite tickly really. Don't like being touched much (unless strictly invited!)

My sides are so tickly and the bit at the bottom of my spine makes me want to pee. I could never do that bit in the dance in Dirty Dancing.

myturn · 14/09/2005 00:21

know exactly what you mean!
