Non menstrual bleeding, what could it be

I have been bleeding for 10 days now & I have no idea why. My period always arrives between day 32 & 34, this started on day 21. My period always starts v v heavy & lasts 4 days. This started with spotting, then became a medium flow & has stayed as a medium flow for 8 days. I have never, ever bled other than for my regular period.

I am not in pain & not on the pill.

Any ideas?

I couldn't be pregnant. Or at least it is highly, highly, highly unlikely. And I never bled in either of my pregnancies.

I went to my GP on Thursday. I got a trainee who was clueless. He ordered some blood tests to check my hormone levels but its another week until I even get the blood taken. He didn't give me an internal examination or say what it might be. He suggested it might be an early period but I am sure it isn't. He said if I am still bleeding in another two weeks to come back.

I keep googling and coming up with worrying results.

I had this a few years ago, was a womb infection, treated straightforwardly with antibiotics, no long term problems. Mind you, mine was post miscarriage.

Hope you get proper help. Doc needs to take a smear of the blood and send to the lab, I think.
