If it didn't taste rancid or smell off I doubt it was off.

Eggs last for ages.

loopy- that just made me retch and my eyes water, ARG thanks. The white was clumpy and stuck in the back of my throat -yuk- so may be it was just stale, didn?t smell off.

How long do eggs last?

Oh I dunno but I've used ones past their best for cakes and stuff and we're all still alive :)

YunoWhatYouDidLastSummer · 16/10/2010 14:15

I thought an off egg was rancid and foul?

wingandprayer · 16/10/2010 14:36

Off egg would stink. Probably make you gag before it got anywhere near your mouth. If the egg was all weird and stringy probably just really old. Horrible, but it won't have any effect on you beyond mental trauma!

LisaLouise73 · 16/10/2010 15:28

check best before and use by dates more often Wink Grin

maxybrown · 17/10/2010 16:33

If an egg was proper off you would have known as soon as you cracked it open - you wouldn't have gotten so far as cooking it!! We used to have them off the farm and crack each one in a cup first to check - boy you knew when one was off!

Rosa · 17/10/2010 16:35

As said you would really know if an egg was off the smell is terrible. It was probably just a bit of the white not cooked. I wouldn't bother trying to be sick or worry ...

FrameyMcFrame · 17/10/2010 16:47

Even if it was off I doubt it would do you any harm as long as it was cooked through.
Now stop worrying!
