chesty cough or chest infection

When does a cough along with a cold become a chest infection? Been ill for last week weeks with coldy, throat, cough thing. Rest it going but coughs worse, coughing up lots of crap, really tired, sire head from coughing and chest sore a bit too.

Any point taking cough medicine? I never usually bother with it.

Had bad chest pain this morning, not just the stingy feeling but crushing as well, like a book was on it. Went to GP. He wanted to get ambulance to hsop but I said noooo. So got taxi to hosp and taken into medical assessment unit. Was there ages. They worried about how fast heart was. More worried that that was causing the pain.

They keps asking if had calf pain and was on the pill every single Dr I saw asked me that. Which I thought was random.

Anyway had ecg, very fast as always. Dr happy to let me go tonight as hr regular even though fast. And shes arranging for me to have a cardic monitor, rerefferal to cardiology and then see her again when done.

To go back if get palpatations or crushing pain again.

Is the pain more when you either breath in or out?

stingy and crushing were there all the time. Had a sharp pain when breathing in too earlier.

DD had terrible pain in January when she had pleurisy it hurt on one side when she breathed in & the other side when she breathed out
