Ds1 nearly given extra MMR booster by mistake........

Was sent a reminder for ds1's DTPP (diptheria etc) booster by our surgery. Duly went along yesterday.

The nurse had 2 injections primed and ready. I got rather confused by what she was saying and thought that the DTPP must have been 2 injections, with the whooping cough element being separate, so thought this was ok. Thankfully, I then said "you do know that he's had the separate MMR jabs (including sep boosters)?" I've told the surgery countless times and the documents are in his red book.

She was rather huffy with me, saying, "oh, this jab is wasted then and chucked it in the bin". This was the MMR booster jab.

I just thought I'd post this so others can double double check the jabs their children are receiving are the right ones .

Would there have been side affects..dont really know about such things, you trust the medical staff dont you!
Glad all was well. Think I might have written a letter to practice!

Jesus, they screw up on medication and then get huffy with you?

FGS. I'd definitely write a letter of complaint.
