Migraine or headache?

Went to bed with a headache- woke every hour with it, also feeling nauseous and upset stomach.
My whole head hurts this morning- feel there's a vice like grip round my ears and forehead. Have had to call in sick as I don't think I can drive.
I had 2 small white wines last night (in the wine bar at 6pm, so they were small- not home measures). God, can I never drink again?

I used to get violent headaches after drinking wine - when my period was due , amybe the week before. Even half a glass would set it off. Since I started on depo and then cerazzette, I get no periods so no more headaches after wine.

It does, however sound like a migraine, possibly caused by wine and monthly cycle(just a thought am not an expert).

I would say it is a classic tension headache. They are usually defined as feeling like a metal band is being tightened about your entire head.

Migraines are always one-sided (though the side affected can change during an attack!)
The term comes from the word hemicrania or half-head.

I don't drink. One small wine gives me a corker of a migraine. Not worth it! When I became pg nobody noticed because I had nothing to give up {grin}. Mine are also hormone-level dependent.

My migraines are always one-side focussed (99% of the time it is my right eyebrow, but spreads over time down the side of my face into my cheek, then jaw, then neck and shoulder). However, when they are really bad, the pain can arch over to the other side also.

I can get migraine triggered by what some people think are quite small quantities of alcohol -- definitely two glasses of wine could do it, especially near my period like Saltire describes. But it's always one-sided. Even though there's generalised pain and misery, you always know which side it all emanates from.

Do you think you might have the flu or the beginning of a bad cold?
I had a bad headahe last week which sounded like the one you just described and had a bad cold/blocked nose since.

Definitely not a migraine then as it's not one sided.
I am having erratic bleeding on HRT at the moment, so maybe it's all linked.
I have even watched Jeremy Kyle- there is no hope for me. Sad

I meant to add, my own migraines are one sided too, and usually have aura with them
