Since becoming a parent....I have a 3.7 old and a nearly 2 year old.
I have had disrupted sleep for about 3.8 years now and have become a very light sleeper which is all natural when you become a mother....
Both my girls sleep through most nights but I'm sure they have made a packed with each other to take in turns to wake me up in the night!!!!
Anyhow even when they sleep through I wake up and need the toilet...
Before I go to bed I have to go to the toilet a few times before i settle down to sleep, even if it is just a trickle...
Does anyone else have this problem and is it part of the parcel of being a mother!
I dont really drink anything after my tea which is 6.30pm and some times I have a glass of wine but I am not a drinker really.
But I wake up 2.30am or 3.30am and I need the toilet!!! Wish i didnt need it as i am tired of finding the bathroom in the dark...
Hey ho, any advice mothers?

You could have an irritable bladder or you could have a mild infection. When we sleep we produce a hormone (anti diuretic hormone) which surpresses the need to wee - you may not be sleeping deeply enough to make it. I'd go to the doctor for a check up - you need your sleep!

I had this after two years of broekn sleep and I saw my GP who said I have a twitchy bladder and needed to train myself not to go to the loo every time. It worked after a few nights! Basically, unless I needed to do a proper wee, I forced myself not to go.
