Baby splinter

hi mumsnetters can anyone help me, my 6 month old has a splinter under her nail and i cant get it out - have tried with tweezers but she wriggles a lot and if she's asleep she wakes up! does anyone have any tips or should i take her to the dr? it has been there since last night. it is not bothering her but i wasnt sure about the risk of infection. thanks!

Doc's 0830hrs tomorrow morning, though there's a chance they might suggest leaving it there. How did she get it?

Have you tried removing it after her bath? The skin will be softer and you may be able to remove it.

I don't know how she got it, she likes to scratch things like the couch with her nails so I guess thats how..can try after her bath, its just really hard to get hold of as its against her tiny nail.
