Bleeding 8 weeks after birth?

I had DS 8 weeks ago. I had almost completely stopped bleeding around 5 weeks afterwards but over the last 10 days its started again. Its not really heavy, quite stop/start with the occasional gush .

I am ebf so am assuming is unlikely to be my period returning already? Plus it is lighter and more prolonged than I'd expect for that.

DS was very big and the membranes were 'ragged' if that is maybe a clue as to what is going on? But no signs of infection as far as I can tell.

I know I will be told to see my GP but the birth was so traumatic to me, I'm having a lot of trouble dealing with that still, and the thought of having anyone else rummage round my fanjo makes me hyperventilate and cry. Really. I don't think I can.

Poor you. I was told to have a stitch but declined (too scared) so hid my bleeding for weeks.

I rammed as much homeopathic stuff down my gob as I could.....anything supposed to help healing etc (arnica etc).

It finally went away after 12 weeks!

(but yes, you should see your gp....but I know exactly how you feel)

Indaba would give you a hug and a cup of tea if she could.

God luck!

Thank you.

This is my second baby but the birth was quite difficult (induction, shoulder dystocia, big baby, difficulty removing placenta) after a straightforward home birth first time round, so its all very different and I'm not too sure whats 'normal' now!
