We found out yesterday that my DH is going to have to have a knee osteotomy, which involves slicing his shin bone and re-aligning with screws and pins.

He has had years of dislocations and brace wearing, so I am pleased that something is at last being done to help him that is not yet a full knee replacement, but I am so worried re recovery. I am almost in tears writng this at the thought of what he is going to go through with pain Sad.

He is a self employed roofer, and I worry that he will never work again at this. What will we live on if he is out of action for months. I can't increase my hours at work, and I don't earn enough to cover our bills.

Anyone have any experience of this operation and its aftermath? Any advice really appreciated.
