I have had a few smears before, and they have all been fine/no pain/no problem.
Unfortunately today did not follow on :( Very stressed nurse rang me as I was leaving the house stressing about whether she'd be able to do it (I have moved since the last one)...so I provided reassurance and went.
Whilst she said the usual about stopping if I asked 
, she did not.
Judging by where the pain was, the snapping feeling and the bleeding that's now ongoing, I am guessing that she broke my septate hymen (wasn't even, could get most things down one side of it as it was stretched...just not the one she chose 
)...
How long should I wait for it to stop bleeding? Should I be doing anything special to make sure no infection happens.
(Also peeved about taking a morning/day away for no smear to occur, but that's another story).
