Not due to see specialist for more results till weds but had to send him to local out of hours at hospital. His been peeing for england for few days, complaining of pains in kidney and very firm belly :( had to force him out of door.
Hoping its nothing too bad and his not kept in :(
please talk to me until i know whats happening.

Oh God that is truly awful. I can't believe they are so useless.

How is DH in himself?

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 29/09/2010 14:01

his very upset, we really need these results and without them they cant tell us if chemo is working but also if he has a mutation that means none of them (TKI chemos) will work :(
It could mean the cancer is getting out of control while we wait. He even suggested we drive to the Hammersmith and have the test done there (thats who does the testing) but macmillian nurse esured us that this lot will be ok Hmm
Just feels like limbo

Any idea how long this batch will take?

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 29/09/2010 14:12

well things like white cells, red cells, platlets and neutrophils are back within an hour, but tests for Hammersmith take upto 3 weeks :( He has to have the tests done on a monday to ensure that they have enough time to do tests before bloods go off. aggrr

That sounds horrendous.
I think if I knew you had the energy I'd be suggesting making a formal complaint - or maybe contacting PALS?

But that doesn't help you much atm.
Sorry this is happening.

The threat of complaining might miraculously 'find' the tests you had before though - that's all I can think of.

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 29/09/2010 14:21

they dont lose them as if in misslaying them. They lose them as in they take too long to courier off to Hammersmith and the blood goes off, even though its clearly marked urgent. They last lot sat there for 10days and these tests the blood cant be older than 72 hours :(

DH specialist is filling out a incident form today as his had enough too :)

What a shambles, but nothing surprises me Lisa, I have been waiting since 9am Mon for a call from the trials nurse about this horrible rash, nothing as yet, makes you feel you arejust a number, do your bit then once the trial is finished thats it!

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 29/09/2010 14:30

:( triplets
The macmillian nurse is ok, but did say she'd tell the blood people if they didnt get it sorted they would have me to deal with. Im def a thorn in her side Grin

collision · 30/09/2010 21:46

how are things?

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 30/09/2010 22:06

things are as always, trying just to get on with things, like trying to sort out the car that he wrote off 3 weeks ago and not sure of insurance will pay out on, kids to school, washing to be done, people to feed. We try and keep things normal if possible for the girls.
DH is ok, weirdly he seems to tollorate this chemo better than the last, we just wish we knew if it was working :(

Wont know anymore till monday Confused but hey its been 18months what more is a few days :)
