hi candy
In the last 2 years I have had real sinus trouble and so does my FIL. We both find that the problem lingers and feel like it will never go away, but eventually it does, but it can really get me down at the time. I have the same gunky trouble at the moment, and yes its worse in the mornings. Earlier in the week I had pain around my eyes and nose - with a muzzy head feeling. I have given up getting AB now, because I found that they dont really make any difference getting rid of the problems, and for me it's just a case of waiting it out. I use paracetamol for pain, and a beconase nasal spray. I also stick my head over a bowl of steaming water, with a towel on top. Sometimes I find just getting out of the house, and walking outside clears my head. The most useful thing was happening to see a GP one day who suffered himself, it made me feel less crazy!

In addition to what's been said above I use sterimar nasal spray stuff, this seems to help with the pressure feeling, once upon a time I was on sudafed every day even though I was also diagnosed with stress headaches. Sometimes the spray can help, it's saline and keeps everything moist.

oops, hit return before I had finished - I also find this helps clear things a bit, and can sometimes force the gunkiness out. It is so miserable x

inhaling steam can help (also clears blocked snout and popped ears). Try the old "towel over the head with a basin of boiling water" thing, and if it works for you, get a "facial sauna" sold by chemists and Argos for purifying the pores and blackhead clearing, quite inexpensive.

My Doc suggested it, he says some people like to put fragrant oils in the water because they think it helps, but it's actually the steam that does the work.
