Ok so sorry for the comedic lead in.

I severly twisted my ankle about 8 weeks ago but I am finding that it is still very sore. Running is impossible, I find now that my hip hurts (related??) too.

I do not know whether to go straight to the walk in clinic and get it xrayed or try and get a GP appointment first. Either way I feel like I am wasting resources.

So GP or walk in clinic???

I am useless with my own wellbeing.

I would go to your GP and ask for an xray referral, our local xray dept is sameday appts with a card from your gp. The local walk-in centre here is only staffed by nurses so thry would send you back to your gp anyway as its not a new injury.

How did you do it? Running? Your hip may be painful if you are walking funny cos of the ankle, or youmight have strained that as well.

I have found that the stringy bits of joints are much more painful than the bony bits. I wrenched either a ligament or tendon in my foot about four years ago. It took months to resolve and was bloody painful. go and see your GP and ask for a referal.

Thank you.
I did it playing ultimate disc. I pivoted too past and went down hard.
I was not sure what the GP would do as I try to avoid the doctors.
Will make an appt today.

Ouch!! Is that the frisbee thing? Hope you get it sorted soon.

Ouch!! I broke my ankle badly 10 years ago and now walk a bit funny (that's the technical term!!) I quite often get an achy hip/knee from not walking normally.

Definitely go and see your GP and see what they say. They will send you for an x-ray if they think you need it. Ankles take a long time to heal unfortunately!

That is the frisbee thing. Very fun game. You do not need to be super fit or coordinated to play either.

I have an appointment next week to get it sorted.

Excellent. May have to give it a go (I am neither super-fit or co-ordinated so i should fit in nicely Grin )
