ds with twitching shoulder

My 10 year old ds has had a twitching shoulder for a few months now. I thought it started when he began playing a playstation he got for his birthday. I stopped him from playing it but it has remained. He gives his shoulder a shrug and then kind of twitches his mouth and nose. Its got worse recently- he's doing it more often . Anyone got any experience of something similar?

I think you should talk to his gp about this, they will be happy to see him about that I'm sure.

GP says it's just a bad habit he's got into and that twitching your shoulders requires lots of muscles and so isn't a twitch . I watched my dh cross the road this morning going into school and he must have shrugged his shoulders five times. The GP said to come back if it continues - anyone got any experience of anything similar or any advice?
