almost throwing up several times a day for apparently no reason

This has only started happening over the past week or so.

I can't brush my teeth without gagging. I have to breathe deeply in order to not puke. If I think too much about something gross, especially food I don't like, I gag. At work someone was microwaving macaroni cheese, and I nearly threw up in the bin. I nearly threw up after eating my lunch.

Explanations?

I presume you've ruled out pregnancy?

onepieceoflollipop · 16/09/2010 20:31

Some possibilities:

pregnancy
anxiety
some sort of mild vomiting virus/"bug"
reaction to a new medication (e.g. you changed contraceptive pill/started taking the pill or indeed any other medication?)
ads can cause nausea or vomiting for the first few days.

I'm almost 100% sure I'm not pregnant. I could be, but I've got a coil and only had sex once this month. I haven't done a test. I haven't started taking any new medication

fuschia why not ask around see if anyone you know has had a sickness type bug. Sometimes it is possible to have a mild one that just makes you feel nauseous while your body fights it off. Could you be premenstrual? I find that if I don't eat regularly at this time I can feel sick on and off.

SofiaAmes · 16/09/2010 21:29

Pregnant, despite the coil and the "only had sex once" excuse. Grin

Pancakeflipper · 16/09/2010 21:36

I retch to the point of being sick when I have a water infection. Tends to happen a few times a day and each episode lasts about an hour or so. It's draining and annoying. I can't face certain foods.

How's weeing? Any niggley low level back pain? Feel tired and crabby?

sapphireblue · 17/09/2010 14:09

sounds exactly like the first 14 weeks of both my pregnancies.........have you done a test?

fuschiagroan · 17/09/2010 22:21

Well I thought my period was coming, and I bled a bit this morning and then NOTHING. Very weird for me. Have cramps, but no blood Confused. May have to do a test if it doesn't get heavier. Need to not be pregnant!
