"water with bicarb in it - works a treat"

I found out that's a myth. I had cystits badly and ended up in hospital with a kidney infection as it spread. I told the consultant about water and bicarb and he said it doesn't work. The bicarb is absorbed / used up before it gets there!

Cranberry juice from most shops is useless anyway as it contains about 1% cranberry juice, the rest being sugar and water.

Try cranberry tablets. You can get them in Boots.

Cranberry tablets, lots and lots of water, and a bath with teatree and/or lavender in it. When I get cystitus as soon as the symptons begin I run my bath (if I'm home!) get lots of bottles of water and immediately take 2 cranberry tablets. Take them every day to ward off future attacks! and always pee after sex!!
