Has anyone had problems getting single mumps vaccine?

Was told earlier this year by Merck that, yes it is still being manufactured and available. Dr. has called in order for measles and rubella and they are in stock but am waiting to hear news of mumps. It is not in stock at their distributor.

Are you getting the jabs done separately as opposed to the MMR then?

my ds had single rubella and measles jabs, but our doc is having trouble getting the single mumps jab.

If you go with a smaller vaccine provider you may get it sooner (as waiting lists are shorter). We were in the waiting list with Health2000 but as they are the main provider of sepvax their list was enormous, we signed up with another one and were called in 2 weeks. Though, if it helps, as it is not longer that difficult to import it nowadays, it may not be long before your distributor gets it. HTH

Thanks, Chandra. I did manage to find a site to check for drug shortages and it wasn't on there so that was a relief. There must be something odd though as the Merck site says it must be ordered directly through the company. I wonder what that's all about?

My dd has just finished the course of single vacs and there was no delay with her mumps one, this was with Breakspear Hospital in Hemel.
