Sore gum

My top gum about 3 teeth round from my front teeth is really sore, it has been sore for a while now but usually just when i decide i should go to the dentist it goes away again.

Anyway this tie it doesn't seem to be going away and i'm scared i've got gum disease or something and all my teeth are going to fall out (ok stop laughing now).

I have a thing about losing all my teeth, dunno why goes they have always been really good, was 26 before I even had a filling.

The gum is sore to touch and a little but red, but doesn't look swollen or anything.

Could i have just been too rough with my toothbrush or should i go see the dentist ?

I would get it checked if it keeps coming back.

Try using an antiseptic mouthwash. I had a sore gum last week and after a few days with the mouthwash it went - could have been coincidence of course, but cheaper than the dentist.

Go to the dentist. When did you last have the dentist clean your teeth during a checkup?

hercules · 01/09/2005 20:24

Do you have any blood when brushing?

nutcracker · 01/09/2005 20:26

Erm no blood when brushing no, erm I had a scale and polish about 16mths ago ( i know i know).

Will perhaps try the mouthwash first.

I get a sore gum from time to time, my dentist puts it down to over enthusiastic brushing.
