Polycystic ovaries & breastfeeding--how long till my period comes back?

Despite the PCOS, I managed to conceive naturally, and DS has just turned 1. I am still breastfeeding him twice a day, sometimes a bit more on the weekend.

I've not had a period yet, and am wondering how long it will take. I had irregular periods before, long cycles, some anovulatory (I took my temp for 3 years so knew if I'd ovulated or not). Maybe I'm just one of those people who will not get my period back until I've completely stopped breastfeeding?

Anyone else been in the same situation? How long did it take for your period to come back?

I don't have PCOS but didn't get my periods back until bf ds2 was about 16mo. I don't think it's that unusual if you are bfing.

My first one started almost exactly a month after I stopped BFing. I also have PCOS.

sapphire, how long did you breastfeed for, if I can ask?
