Hi,

I'm 25 wks pregnant, 1st pregnancy and in absolute agony in my mid/lower back area.

I've been ill since weds when i had a bit of a tummy bug but Thurs and Fri consumed with pains in my kidney area.

I visited doc Fri morning - she said indigestion take gaviscon, by Fri night doubled up in pain so went to hospital on advice of midwife - No docs available due to emergency surgery midwife checked baby, she was fine, went home after 5 hours. Tried to just rehydrate. By this morning, in agony again - back to hospital.

Urine and bloods show no sign of kidney infection but doc said probably not indigestion either - baby still fine. Sent home told to take paracetamol and go back tomorrow for scan.

I just feel so crap and i'm stressed they can't find anything wrong, although i know that really that's a good thing.I'm also very worried about missing work, I had 4 days off about 3 wks ago with a nasty cold and now another four days off with this.

Has anyone else experienced similar.Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with me?

Can my office force me to take maternity early? If so, how much sickness will i have to have before they do this? Before i got pregnant my sick record was non-existent!

I am grateful for your advice.

I had a kidney infection with no other sign's other than lower back pain it was agony i was given antibiotics and that worked doc was sure that was what it was no other test's, Go back to doc asap and get it treated before it gets much worse for you.

On the work side im sure they cant make to take early mat leave if your illness is not baby related which it sounds like its not dont worry about work just get yourself better im sure they will think the same.
