Copper Coil and Migraines

I've had a copper coil in for just over a year - can't handle hormonal contraceptives (POP gave me acne, ditto mirena coil and was taken off combined pill due to migraines). I get the usual heavy period for a couple of days, but if I take an iron supplement it's fine.

However the past 4 or 5 months I've been having really bad migraines around ovulation time and and immediately before, or during the first day of my period. I've always had hormonally triggered migraines, but recently they're getting more severe and more frequent.

Anyone any ideas? Could it be the coil? Or am I heading towards menopause? I'm 36.
