Head Lice and psoriasis

Can anyone help please. I've got unbearably itchy psoriasis quite badly in my hair at the back of my head. I've built resistance to doctor's creams over the years so it's really bothering me. It might also be exema or dermatitis - I've had various diagnoses over the years. But it's never been this itchy before. I'm scatching my head in my sleep and first thing on waking and I want to do it all day. Wondering if I might have caught headlice. Do head lice like to feed on these kind of flakey skin conditions. Have checked several times recently with nit combs and lots of conditioner but found nothing but old flakes. I'd be tempted to put on a lice treatment but worried it will irritate the broken skin.

I suffer with exactly the same problem, i find in this weather that it is the horrible muggy weather that irritates my psoriasis and makes it itch more, especially if i have been sweating, I wouldn't advise using lice lotion, but, avon do a lime and tea tree shampoo and conditioner in one and its supposed to be very good, the tea tree keeps nits at bay as well as easing psoriasis.

MBDV thanks, I'll look into that product. It has got worse in the heat - I'd never made the connection before.

What cream or lotion for psoriasis have any of you found effective when you'd previously built up resistance? Have thought many times to go herbal or alternative but need recommendations for products/treatments. If there is a previous thread about this with some good leads, please let me know - thanks.

I haven't found anything for the psoriasis on the scalp, at the min i am using alphosyl 2 in 1 but it isn't doing anything, but I have found a great cream for psoriasis elsewhere

Try Trinity Soap/shampoo from elenas nature collection- www.elenascollection.co.uk - it is antibacterial (teatree) and anti inflamatory(blue camomile) ideal for itchy, sore red scalp!
you can order a sample via the website and its available on the NHS.

weirdly DH has recently been having quite a lot of relief from scalp psoriasis by using DD's Johnson's baby shampoo

used to do warm oil treatments for an hour before washing too
