Hi my son, age 12, has got peeling skin on his hands, that are the result of little pimple-like things that grow and then turn into little blisters that pop and shed the skin. the skin under is not red or oozing like in impetigo and they are not itchy or painful, just not very good looking. is this excema? is getting him to rub tea tree oil over his hands at night a good idea, because it will kill any fungus or bacteria, or a bad idea because it may irritate his skin?

I get this on my feet - it is some sort of fungal infection and responds to athletes foot creams. It sounds exactly the same from your description. Try taking him to a pharmacist and asking what they would advise - they are bery good for this sort of advice!
