Never had thrush before and seem to be experiencing other problems eg lack of interest and pain. Has anyone had similar experiences or advice about getting rid of the thrush.

If this is your first bout, did you get it diagnosed by a doctor?

If it is thrush, then start with Canestan.

Effect on sex life? Brings it to a standstill as you don't want to risk repeated cross infections. Hands only, iyswim.

Not been to doctor. Tried Canestan that got rid of the itching but then I started with a discharge. Took another Canestan tablet and the discharge has gone ( for now ! ).

It's the loss of libido that's worrying me and the fact that sex was painful after the first course of Canestan when I thought the thrush had gone.

Hi I had this too. You need to go back to your GP and ask for a tablet. I think it's called Diflucan. This worked for me as my thrush didn't clear up after two lots of Canestan.

Sorry read your post wrong didn't realise you hadn't been to see Dr.

If it's a first attack, it's worth going to a gp for a proper diagnosis, just to be sure it is thrush. Once you know what thrush is like, you'll recognize it for sure in future.
