Pill problems yet again.............

Over the years I have been on many different pills including microgynon, marvelon, mercilon and most recently cilest.

I have had some problems in the past that I believe were linked to the pill, and did have a good few years break. However, I find it difficult to relax using condoms only and have retried the pill over recent months. I thought that my worst experience was with microgynon - within days of starting to take it, I put on about 3 lbs (which must have been water retention as it was so quick) and continued to just get more and more bloated. I cried alot (not me at all) about nothing in particular, felt like I was walking through treacle (sounds weird, but my I just felt so lethargic) and felt almost spaced out sometimes to the point that I would lose the thread of a conversation. My sex drive disappeared (which kind of defeats the object!) and so I came off it and gave myself a couple of months break again. Weight came straight back off and I stopped crying! I've now tried Cilest, and after only about 10 days, I've had all of the above AND rotten nausea every day. I know that there are side effects from the pill, but I just can't believe mine are so pronounced and come on so quickly. My doctor is sympathetic, but looks surprised when I tell her about the extent of my symptoms. Needless to say, I took my last pill yesterday (can't even bear to finish the pack) and am back at square 1. Has anyone else suffered such symptoms and on which pills? The doctor seems to think that one day, a miracle will happen and I'll find a pill that does suit me, but I'm fed up wasting my life feeling lousy! Would appreciate any experiences/advice. I am wondering whether my body would adjust, but did take the other pills for several months with no improvement.

Hi soundless,

well I could have posted this except that Cilest was the pill that 'worked' for me...

Maybe try the coil? or the Mirena coil?
